Siphoned Secrets

Hi guys,
Thank you for visiting my blog.  The purpose of this blog is to find out what you, the readers think of my work.  Honesty is a great thing when trying to find your highs and lows in the literary field, and listening to what your readers say is a must.  After all, writer's would be futile if not for the readers.  I welcome your honesty as well as your criticism, but if you could, please spare me any obscenities.  I guess if I want your honest feedback, I should tell you a little more about me.

I was born on March 11th, 1969 in a little town called Pikeville, Tennessee.  I am forty-four years old, married to a wonderful husband and have four beautiful daughters, all in their twenties who are my world.  I have three grandchildren who I adore and hope to write children's books for them in the near future.  I have to admit, I had a rough start.  I dropped out of school and got off of the beaten path for a while, but I found my way back to complete school and take a literature course at the Institute of Children's Literature in West Redding, Connecticut as well as the Long Ridge Writer's Group.  I graduated in 2000 and have been working on small projects since then.

I recently tried the brick and mortar approach to selling my books, but unfortunately, I was duped by a publication house which has a class action lawsuit against them now (from other authors, not me because I was happy to get out of my contract) as well as a literary agent who posted my book online in ebook form to collect my royalties and become defunct.  He went out of business and left my book hanging in limbo.  I chalk it up to a learning process and thinking this way I decided to check out Smashwords.  Smashwords has a lot of qualities that regular publishing houses do not have.  For instance, I do not have to worry about my books being snatched off of the shelves within two weeks because they are not selling as they should.  On Smashwords my book has time to grow, so this is where you come in my friends.  I need to know what you think because your opinion whether it be a good one or a bad one will teach me how to become a better writer.  As with any craft there is always room for improvement and I want to thank you for taking the time to tell me your opinion.  If you don't mind please rate my book whether it is 4 stars or one, I will appreciate it.

I will also return the favor to any writer's who need an honest opinion.  Feel free to post your book title and I will check it out and rate it for you.  Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and I look forward to your comments.  Have a great day.
